Industrial investors and various development projects in Rombo district in Kilimanjaro region have been asked to ensure that they consider the care and protection of the environment in the area around them.

Head of Rombo District, Mr. Raymond Mangwala said this during the inspection of various development projects during the Freedom Torch Run on April 5, 2024 in the district.

Mr. Mangwala gave an example of the Rock Block Project in Horiri, which after the completion of the project, the investors will install a fish breeding pond as well as a water project for the community around the area.

"We have already directed the investors of this project in the care of the environment and here they will turn this area into a fish pond and it will be a source of water.

"We have discussed with them and we have seen that to ensure that the environment remains safe all the time," said Mr. Mangwala

On his part, the Project Manager, Mr. Fabian Oisso has said that they will continue to follow the advice of experts at all times to ensure that they take care of the environment.

The project has been producing rock bricks after carving from stones mined in the area.
